How a Fossil Forms

How a Fossil Forms

Fossils are formed in different type of ways and always help the contribution of science.
For fossils to be created animals should die, fall and sink in shallow water. After a long period of time silt or mud covers the dead animal's body. Mud and silt becomes rock; and protects the body from oxygen. When the muds have covered the animal the decomposition of bacteria starts. Decomposition takes many years to happen. Then weathering and erosion expose the fossil at the earth’s surface.
