Solar Energy vs. Coal

These two forms of energy produce the same energy, but every one has different process and effects. One is renewable (solar energy) and the other is non-renewable (coal), this gives them advantages and disadvantages. Solar energy and Coal may be different but they produce the same kind of energy.

Solar energy is fitter for the environment, more then 10,000 homes in the United States use solar energy. Photovoltaic systems are solar systems that produce electricity token from sunlight. Solar energy is only useful when the sun is shining, but, pollution can be a disadvantage for solar panels; it can decrease ability of photovoltaic systems. We use solar energy every minute of the day because of the sun. It is more used than any other fossil fuel on the earth. To get solar panels, it costs $215 for only one but to build solar power station, it costs a lot. It is really expensive. A bad thing about solar energy is that it doesn’t give out energy if the sun is not present, so if there is a cold country who really needs heat, solar energy will not help.

Coal is one of the three most important fossil fuels. Coal must be dried before being burned successfully.There are about 861,000 coal supplies in the world. The countries that produce the most coal in the world are China and the USA.

Coal takes a million years to create and therefore it belongs to non-renewable energy sources. Coal is one of the three most important fossil fuels. Coal must be dried before being burned successfully.

Different types of coal have different uses. Steam coal is mainly used in power generation. Cooking coal is used for steel production. Solar energy works when sunlight photons hit a solar panel, bumping electrons creating an electrical current. Coal Energy produces a lot of pollution.

Between these two resources Coal is better form solar energy. It can be used in nighttime and it gives more energy then Solar gives. Even if Coal pollutes our planet it doesn't make that much of a difference if we still use it today. People think coal is old school as a energy source but in fact it is the most used energy source in the world. One of the biggest advantages of coal is that it inexpensive. Coal is a solid so that makes it easier and safer to transport compared to other energy sources.
